Desktop App Basics
This page covers AeroFeed Desktop behavior that is different from a typical app.
🧭 The Desktop navigation
The desktop app is built around 5 main screens:
- HOME — dashboard and shortcuts
- FLIGHT — import/sync, live flight info
- LOADSHEET — printing + automation rules
- CONSOLE — ACARS / CPDLC tools
- SETTINGS — accounts + device options
🟦 Tray behavior (running in background)
When you click the X button, AeroFeed usually keeps running.
This is intentional:
- AeroFeed keeps tracking the simulator
- background automation continues
- incoming messages can still arrive/print
How to reopen the window
- Find the AeroFeed tray icon.
- Click it to show the window.
How to fully quit
- Right-click the tray icon.
- Click Quit.
⬇️ Updates
AeroFeed Desktop can require updates.
When a new version is available:
- AeroFeed will show an update notice
- it may download the installer and guide you through the update
Tip
If AeroFeed says “update required”, complete the installer update and then reopen AeroFeed.
🌐 Open AeroFeed in your browser
Click OPEN WEB APP to open the AeroFeed UI in your default browser.
This is useful when:
- you want AeroFeed on a second monitor
- you prefer browser zoom or accessibility tools
📱 Use external device (phone/tablet)
Click USE EXTERNAL DEVICE.
You will see one or two URLs:
- Local URL — works on the same PC
- LAN URL — works on the same Wi‑Fi (when enabled)
